Shattered Union

Here's an interesting future scenario from a modern-day video game.

The game features the former states splitting into six factions, with the European Union controlling Washington, D.C.

Upon destroying all other factions, the player is sent into a final war with Russia in Alaska.

Might we see some of this come to fruition? Maybe; many of the elements seem plausible.

On a side note, notice how the Governor of California in the game looks exactly like Anderson Cooper.

Is there really that much support for secession at the moment? I see and hear grumblings from time to time.
What are your thoughts?

With all of the recent polls and media attention (or lack thereof) on the subject, I think we're going to wait a bit longer before we see another 1860's type of political environment in America.

I would love to be a part of a conservative secession in America, but I just don't see an adequate number of people willing to work for one.

I think that several of the secession movements are extremely sophomoric.

Others, such as the League of the South, are more legitimate, but will require a many more years of effort before a goal can be reached.

The remote vastness of Alaska, in my mind, would tend to be the best type of situation for a successful secession.

Have you heard anything about the Republic of Lakotah?
