Romans 13: A Tool for Tyrants?

A shocker?

Maybe not... governments have been using and abusing "spiritual leaders" for millenia in order to establish empires.

The Bible says to obey the law of the land.

And, what law would that be, children?

I believe that the clergyman speaking was a Catholic, the religion that is most suceptible to tyranny.

They just wrote government a blank check! Absolutley no mention of protecting the just and punishing the unjust.....which is the qualifier to obeying government in the first place!

Exactly! Thanks for commenting.

God told us what kind of government to obey: a terror to evil; a continual minister of God for our own good; a punisher of evil.

Brother, this ain't it!

The highest power in America is the CONSTITUTION; when the governing body of the Constitution breaks the law, it becomes TRAITOROUS.

Traitors are hung, the Constitution is the law, and everybody is happy.

Therefore the Constitution alone is applicable to Romans 13.
